Can I rent my static caravan?

Some holiday parks permit private letting, some require owners to use an approved scheme or operator, and some restrict it altogether. There may also be rules about guest registration, keys, passes, behaviour, marketing, cleaning or the dates the property can be occupied.

Ask the park directly. A verbal assurance is less useful than the current agreement, written letting policy and fee schedule. If you are buying, request these before exchange rather than assuming the current owner's arrangement will transfer.

The park agreement may limit commercial use, subletting, age of caravan, occupancy or residence. If there is finance, the lender may have conditions around holiday letting. Standard insurance may not cover paying guests, loss of rental income or the specific use you intend.

These are separate checks. Permission from one party does not automatically satisfy another. If something is unclear, obtain specialist legal, lending or insurance advice before relying on rental income.

Letting means more than taking bookings. You need a safe, clean property, reliable guest information, changeover arrangements, a way to deal with problems and records appropriate to the property and its requirements.
